The House of Lichtenburg-Hohenzollern (Alman: Haus Lichtenburg-Hohenzollern; Sugovian: Hoss Lichtenborg-Hohenzollern; Spaninol: Casa de Lichtenburg-Hohenzollern) is the reigning imperial house of Weisserstein and the reigning royal house of Lichtenburg-Rhineland and Sunland. The dynasty is amongst the most prominent dynasties in Pacifica, with various members being part of the Weissersteiner, Sugovian, Sunlandic nobilities among others, ruling over various realms as counts, princes, dukes, archdukes, kings, and emperors. The dynasty originated from the marriage of Wilhelm I, the Crown Prince of Lichtenburg, to Elizabeth I, the Crown Princess of Rhineland. Following the couple's ascension to the throne in 1801, the dynasty became the ruling family of the newly united Kingdom of Lichtenburg-Rhineland, and following the Proclamation of the Weissersteiner Empire in 1815, became the imperial house of Weisserstein.
In 1848, the family would ascend the throne of the Seventh Sunlandic Confederation when Karl Friedrich, the second son of Wilhelm I and Elizabeth I, who married Princess Matilda of Sunveria, was elected by the Prince-Electors as the new Prince-Regent of Sunland following the death of Karl Anton I, which brought the extinction of the male line of the House of Schwarzburg. Karl Friedrich's marriage to Matilda, who was now in line as the successor of the head of the House of Schwarzburg, would create the cadet branch House of Lichtenburg-Hohenzollern-Schwarzburg.
