Peter Trenton, born 24 August 1948, is a Livanan politician who has served as the 12th president of Livana since March 2012. A historian by education, Trenton was Chairman of the Workers and Labour Party from 1994 to 2003, and Minister of Education and Culture from 1996 to 2000. He served as the Collegiate Speaker of the Parliament of Livana from 2010 to 2015 until his election as President in 2015.
Trenton was the People's Coalition candidate in the 2015 presidential election, defeating incumbent President Alicia Anice of the Liberal Faction with 62.6% of the vote in a decisive round. Trenton assumed office on 2 January 2015; he is the first leftist president since the beginning of the Confederacy. In May 2017, Trenton announced that he would seek reelection in the 2020 presidential election. He won reelection in the on 1 January 2020 with 62.7% of the vote and his second term began on 2 January 2020.
