The Coalition Of United Stars (officially abbreviated in COUS) is a supranational political and economic union of 7 member states that are located primarily in the Center to North-West of Sector A1-0.

Government

The Council Of The Coalition

The highest administrative and legislative body of the Coalition Of United Stars is the Council Of The Coalition. The Council is responsible for proposing, discussing and emanating international laws that will affect all Member States, regulate trade between members and deal with situations on the interstellar political stage that interest the Coalition. Upon joining, each Member Nation selects a representative between it's ranks, called a National Representative, that will represent their nation in the Council Of The Coalition. Each nation will be able to select it's representative through any method they see fit based on their culture and methods of governance, from a direct royal appointment to a proportional democratic election. Each National Representative will remain in charge for exactly 5 Standard Years from the start of their term. Once their term ends, their nation will select another representative, again using whichever method they desire.

Specialized Office Positions

Along the National Representatives, four more Specialized Roles are present in the Council Of The Coalition, each with a specific task.

• Ambassador Of The Coalition: The Ambassador Of The Coalition represents the alliance in international affairs, and will therefore act as an ambassador for all Member Nations. They also conduct the Primary Evaluation of Observant Nations before they join the Coalition.
• Bureaucratic Director Of The Coalition: The Bureaucratic Director Of The Coalition organizes the alliance's bureaucratic apparatus. The Administrative Branches under their overseeing coordinate the legislative process, imports/exports tax collections and all other bureaucratic processes involving the governments of Member Nations.
• Secretary Of The Coalition: The Secretary Of The Coalition ensures that the decisions taken by the Council Of The Coalition are executed and implemented by all the Member Nations, their governments and the other bodies of national governance under their jurisdiction.
• Inspector Of The Coalition: The Inspector Of The Coalition monitors (and is monitored in turn) the other members of the Council Of The Coalition through a specialized intelligence agency for any illicit acts and for any signs of political corruption inside the other branches of the Coalition Government.
