The League of Cordilia is a supranational, political, economical and military continental organization of 10 Cordilian member states with territories located exclusively in Cordilia. The league has a total area of 2,945,115 km2 (1,137,115 sq mi) and an estimated population of at least 565 million.

History

Law & Politics

Determined during the Pantoupoli Negotiations, agreed and ratified among the original 9 founding members. Following a procedure suggested by the UPRAN Delegation, an agreement was achieved. This agreement acts as a supranational, mandatory law code containing within it laws that LoC members must follow, which has been declared to be provisional. In Rule I Provision 2, a clear purpose and reason is provided:

"To keep peace and independence of Central and South Cordilia, unite states against disruptive actions of external nations, to maintain the sovereignty and safety of Cordilian nations in the continent."

Peace, independence, Defense, Sovereignty and Safety as core tenants are mentioned again in Rule II Provision 7, which requires that accessioning members must act in accordance with the previously mentioned Rule I Provision 2.

According to Rule IV Provision 1, mutual defense is guaranteed and mandatory:

"Mutual defense pact is mandatory for all member-states to follow, in the event that a member-state refuses to participate in sending help to another member-state which is in a defensive war, they face automatic expulsion and sanction from the League of Cordilia."

Purpose and Values

Since the war tensions between Valora and Izaakia, a sentiment of self-determination arose from some Cordilian states that were against foreign powers waging wars in Cordilia. Between the nations of Cordilia, UPRAN and Huawan were the mos vocal, which started the first communications that would end up in the founding of the League of Cordilia.

Since the start, the core principles of the organization have been the cooperation and mutual defense between Cordilian states to keep the protection and self-determination of Cordilia.

As such, the League of Cordilia accepts membership from all Cordilian nations.

Government

The ethological function of the administration derives itself from the Pantoupoli Agreement, reminiscent of a presidential republic. The Legislative Council of the League of Cordilia, as the name suggests, is to act as the organization's legislative body, in the interest of the League of Cordilia.

The Head Chair holds near supreme executive authority over resolutions, yet its main function is the coordination of members in the council. It also serves as the main representative of the League – both when interacting with member-states and non-members.

Foreign Relations

As the League acts under its members' interest, it is obliged to form its own foreign policy, as well as partially mandating the foreign policy of its member-states, like in the case of the mutual defense pact. However, the League's own foreign relations are not an expression of its members' foreign sentiments. The same applies for the policy of the member-states, meaning their own foreign policy isn't a direct representation of the League of Cordilia's views.
