History
Kingdom of Free
With the coronation of Andrea I in 1638 and the accession of the House of Free a unified flag was designed to bring all the counties together under the new rule. It was taken from the colours of the Coat of Arms the House of Free.
Modern flag of the Kingdom of Holy Free
The flag of Holy Free is a hybrid of the flag of the kingdom of Free and the Holsani state. This flag was adopted because of the union of Holsani and Free, the change of the major religion in Free and to represents that Holy Free is a religious nation.
Display and use
The flag is usually flown from the government buildings and at military bases in Holy Free. Private use is not widespread. Only on national holidays is there widespread private use. The flag is also displayed at times of sadness at half-staff as a sign of respect or national mourning.

Variant flags of Holy Free
Other flags are used to represent Holy Free, most notably at sea to differentiate the flag of Holy Free from typical signal flags
The Naval Jack of Holy Free is adopted around the time that King Trinal V adopted the national flag but the exact date is unknown. It is notable for its use of a ration of 1:1 compared to the 2:3 ration of the other flags of Holy Free. It is used on docked vessels only and mostly historical ships locked at different harbors in Holy Free. It is composed of an hourglass shape with 2 triangles (The top triangle is red with blue lines on two sides of the triangle and the other triangle is blue). It symbolized Mt.Holiest which is a volcano.
The Naval ensign of Holy Free is adopted on 27 October 1994. It is used on vessels and battleships of Holy Free. It is composed of a white diamond on a blue and red background with an anchor in the center. It symbolizes the sea.
