The Andreian Brick (₿) is the currency used in Andrendia.
It was first created by the Minister of Economy and explorer Giovanni Bricco in 1789, unifying all the currencies that were in use in the Empire before then.
History
The Andreian brick was previously named Andreon and was proposed and designed by Giovanni Bricco, one of the most important characters in the politics of the time. He was the Minister of Economy and was an avid explorer in his free time. During his travels he realized how diverse and different all the currencies were across the territories of Andrendia and that somehow not even the Axolian Empire which preceded Andrendia had tried to unify them.
So, in 1788, Bricco designed a new currency, the Andreon. This currency was composed of coins and banknotes, with decimal divisions for values under one Andreon.
In 1789, without a single vote not in favor, the Senate approved the currency.
In the following years the currency would be distributed across the Empire and it would end up fully replacing all the other currencies in 1796.
In 1801, after the death of Giovanni Bricco during an exploration of the second tallest mountain of the Apennian Alps to find the source of the River that crossed the Capital of the Empire, the currency and the river got named in his honor: Brick, or Bricco in Appennise.
In 1921, after the economic reforms made under Franco Oloto IV's reign, the currency was reworked, changing the decimal subdivisions into centesimal ones.
