The Unified Convention Concerning Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances is a 1994 drug prohibition treaty governing the classification of illicit narcotic, psychotropic, and other substances and measures for the suppression of their recreational usage. (PLACEHOLDER1) states are parties to the convention, which covers aspects such as manufacture, possession, transport, and trade of internationally recognized illicit substances, as of 2024.

The Unified Convention was proposed in 1991 as a mechanism for unifying global efforts against drug traffcking and consolidating the array of preceding treaties that governed matters such as the opium, heroin, and cocaine trades in a piecemeal fashion. It mandates the criminalization of unauthorized manufacture, trafficking, possession, and sale of classified substances by all state parties, as well as additional measures such as seizures of drug-related assets and the placement of distribution controls on recognized precursor chemicals. Other articles provide for cooperation in extraditions, police intelligence sharing, and other cooperative measures in anti-drug efforts between the law enforcement agencies of state parties.
