The International Designator, also known as COSPAR ID, is an international identifier assigned to artificial objects in space. It consists of the launch year, a letter code comprised of one to four letters representing the nation, international organization or private company of said spacecraft, a three-digit incrementing launch number of that year from that nation/international organization/private company, and up to a three-letter code representing the sequential identifier of a piece in a launch.
For example, 2022-R001A is the Gaheia-P rocket on its first mission, EGP-1 (nicknamed Christina), which carried the Enosi module (2022-R001B) into space for the space station Orízontas-1 (Central Cordilian Space Station outside Rhayna).
Spacecraft which do not complete an orbit of the Earth, for example launches which fail to achieve orbit, are not assigned IDs.
