Horace Soormann was the dictator (self-styled as Grandmaster) of Transsuneria from 9 December 2014 to 5 May 2015. He ceased power from President Petar Holems, a co-founder of the Purist Party, together with whom he had instigated a coup against the democratically elected government in 10 April 2013. During the Purist rule, and especially under Soormann, Forinsel nationalism flourished, and discrimination and persecution against Regonian Catholics and others labelled "unwanted" was normalised. He was defeated by a coalition between the Federationists that fought to restore the democracy and Sedunn and Karnetvor and sentenced to life-time in prison. An estimated 40,000 civilians died as a result of the persecution and his indiscriminate use of chemical weapons.
In May 24 2020 he was freed from prison by loyalists and RIM special forces during the Karelins Campaign of the Reizen Civil War. With RIM backing he hoped to restore his rule, but he was betrayed and shot dead by his own troops shortly before the fall of the last loyalist and RIM pockets of resistance on Karelins Island. He was buried at an unknown location at sea.
