10000 Islands, also known as XKI, 10KI or TKI, is a User-Created Region founded in March 2003 by Grub. It is a defender region, one of the founding members of the Partnership for Sovereignty and a treatied ally of the South Pacific. It is also one of the sixteen extant regions in NationStates to be Commended by the Security Council, by SCR#30.

History

10000 Islands was originally founded by Lyonesse in March 2003. Grub was appointed as the region's new founder in late 2003 by the moderators, after the feature was added to the game and a limited window opened up where communities could appoint one of their own as its founder.

The Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization (TITO), the region's military wing, was formed in July 2003 to fend off an invasion by Empire of Power, a notorious invader group at that time. Since then, it has grown to be one of the most illustrious forces to ever grace the battlefields, with over 4000 successful missions to date.

Woonsocket took over Grub's nation as Chief Executive in 2017 after Grub decided to leave the game due to real-life commitments. Markanite took over from Woonsocket as Chief Executive in 2019, and Hakketomat would succeed Markanite in 2021.

The South Pacific signed The Southern Islander Accords with 10000 Islands in 2019, making them a treatied ally of the region since then. The talks were headed by then-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the South Pacific Omega and then-World Assembly Delegate of 10000 Islands Kuriko.
