The Stoinian-Venterran War, Stoinian-Venterran War of Terran Appraisal or the Appraisal War is an ongoing armed conflict between the Stoinian Star Kingdom and the Venterran Federation. The conflict began sometime in 1 BBT, when Stoinians ventured into the Middleton Wormhole into Venterran space, subsequently being recognized as Terrans and attacked by the Venterran fleet.

Prelude

Sometime in the year 0 BBT, The Stoinians found their side of the Middleton Wormhole. As they sent an exploratory fleet through, they encountered a Venterran fleet. The Venterrans thought that the Stoinians could have been humans from the Wako Incident due to the system they hailed from. When the Stoinians passingly called themselves Terran, The Venterran fleets open fire on the Stoinians, destroying 65 Stoinian vessels and damaging more as they made it back into Stoinian space.

Initial reactions

The Stoinians immediately reported the incident to King Andrei. He ordered conscription on Cornucopia to prepare for the planet's defense. The Stoinian War council then unanimously voted to declared war on the Venterran Federation.

The Venterrans "cleaned up" the Stoinian ships, killing many of the survivors and capturing the rest. Many Venterrans held the sentiment that the Stoinians should be all killed, being "Subjugated to the Great Purge."

Battle of Cornucopia

The Naval Battle

The Venterrans eventually went into Stoinian space 4 days after initial contact with a combined fleet of 25,000. Stoinians had around 6,800 ships defending Cornucopia. They had also been fortifying the planet to prepare for the coming battle. The field marshal in command of Cornucopian forces was Valto "Wall" Häkkinen. The Venterrans, their entire fleet called the "Divine Fleet of Relentless Appraisal," decided to send waves of roughly 3,000 warships every hour, to gauge the Stoinians' abilities while keeping up pressure. The Stoinians initially formed 3-dimensional arrows to meet the Venterrans. The Stoinians used a tactic where they bombarded any enemy ships with their MAC Cannons before ramming into the weakened ships. Venterrans on the ship "Tip of the Spear" were ordered to initiate the "Void Protocol," meaning that if they were fatally damaged in a ramming attack, they would drag the enemy into slipspace with them.

When the second wave arrived, The Stoinians had lost around 2,200 ships while the Venterrans had lost 1,500, which while higher than expected was not enough to win the Stoinians the battle. With the arrival of the second wave, the Stoinians decided not to fight to the last ship and started piercing the Venterran line to allow civilian vessels to escape to preserve their naval numbers.

Defense platforms

The Stoinians lost many defense platforms to the Venterrans, however, self-destruct protocols destroyed 12 with the Venterrans on them, leading to a loss of 36 Venterran boarding parties. This was a minor tactical loss but a major strategic loss as the Venterrans would need more experienced troops as the war carried on.

Southern Elevator

The first of the three space elevators on Cornucopia to be attacked was the Southern Elevator by the infamous Venterran "Hell Divers," an elite shock unit of the Venterran Federation. The Stoinians had deployed the 763rd EVA Battalion on the elevator, a unit trained for 0-gravity combat. When the EVA battalion caught up to the Venterrans, they were surprised to see them fighting along Xenos, including the infamous Mardakii from the War at Home, which sent the Stoinians in to a rage. After throwing both grenades and smoke bombs, the 763rd charged into the Venterran line. Bloody fighting ensued, with both Venterrans and Stoinians using the body parts of their fallen enemies as weapons. The Stoinians disengaged and retreated to cargo room B-234. The Stoinians had the gravity of the room turned off, but the Venterrans were prepared- only two Hell Divers were killed due to the event, with the rest staying oriented. The Stoinians were able to use this lack of gravity to their advantage, but the Venterrans were able to use this to their advantage. Major Paul Harrison was the last man standing in the room, and was taken alive. The Hell divers won the battle.
