Charles William, Prince of Lichtenburg-Hohenzollern-Arnsstadt was a Weissersteiner noble and military commander. The third son of Emperor Wilhelm I and Empress Elizabeth of Weisserstein, he was a member of the House of Lichtenburg-Hohenzollern and was later made Prince of Arnsstadt by the Duke of Zierenburg, Franz III.

Early life and marriage

Charles William was born in Königslicht (renamed to Kaiserslicht in 1815), the fourth child and third son of Emperor Wilhelm I and Empress Elizabeth (then King and Queen of Lichtenburg-Prussia respectively). He attended gymnasium in Kronplatz before joining the military.

Charles would marry Princess Feodora from the House of Neubert-Homstein, the daughter of Prince Joseph of Neubert-Homstein and placeholder of placeholder. They only had one child, Prince Paul of Arnsstadt

Military career

In 1852, he led the 12th Landwehr Regiment in the War of the Zierenburger Succession as part of the Weissersteiner contingent force in the conflict. After the battle of X, which saw the death of Johann von Landren, Charles William was given overall command of all Weissersteiner forces in Zierenburg, amounting to three regiments.
