The Lampshade Galaxy (IPA: /læmp.ʃeɪd/) is the giant barred spiral galaxy in which Sector A1-0 is located. Lampshade has a D25 isophotal diameter of approximately 87.38 kiloparsecs (285.000 light years), and is thought to contain approximately 570 billion stars with an estimated virial mass of 1.875×1012 standard stellar masses.
