The Pelinese Volunteer Legion (Alman: Pelinische Freiwilligenlegion, Hinomoto: ペリネ義勇軍団, Karnetvorian: Пелинесский Добровольческий Легион), also known as the Brown Berets, the Alman Unit, or the PELDOGON, was a volunteer paramilitary unit which fought in the Pelinese Civil War on the side of the Pelinese Provisional Government. The unit was among the largest makeup of foreign volunteers during the Pelinese Civil War and were one of the best equipped. They were known as the Brown Berets, due to their distinctive headgear. Commanders on the front noted that the legion were amongst the fiercest fighting forces at the side of the Provisional Government. The unit was made up mostly of Pelinese white émigres as well as volunteers from multiple nations, namely Weisserstein and other Almannic-speaking countries, which earned the unit another nickname: the Alman Unit. The unit was commanded by Weissersteiner Major Fritz Koehne and Pelinese émigre figure Brigadier General Shigeru Tsuguchi.
Founded in 1978, the unit sought membership from the very small Pelinese diaspora, as well as from people who were sympathetic to the Pelinese restorationist cause, or from those who are opposed to the expansion of communism, mostly from Almannic countries but also from other nations as well. It continued to exist after the end of the Pelinese Civil War, being disbanded in 1984. They were involved in several major battles of the Pelinese Civil War, namely the Battle of Korolyeviya in 1980.
The unit allegedly has connections to the Weissersteiner KAA.
