The Colonus Pact is a spacefaring nation located in the north-west of Sector A1-0. All information on this is subject to change until I go through it for revisions

Language

As there is no official spoken/written language of The Colonus Pact, any and all names are either the result of long, intensive, and yet-incomplete translation attempts, or simply attributed to Colonus by other star-nations.

Communication in the Colonus Pact is done through advanced pheromones. Some citizens are also able to communicate telepathically thanks to neural implants that connect them to the hivemind.

History

First Contact:

7759 BBT

The Vanti and Mandi first came into contact when a Mandi exploratory vessel inadvertently entered Vanti space. After a firefight with Vanti defense ships, the exploratory vessel was destroyed. Unbeknownst to the Vanti, a distress signal had been fired back to Mandi space, to be received by and outbound satellite roughly 50 standard years later.

The Queendom Wars:

The Queendom Wars was a series of three wars fought between the Mandabis Collective and Avanti Queendom

Queendom War 1:

7683 BBT - 7635 BBT

Over the Course of 15 years, the fledgling Mandi Collective built up an invasion fleet to seek retribution from the Avanti Queendom. After 3 years of travelling, the fleet finally reach Vanti space, engaging with the ill-prepared defense fleet. Rather than engage the enemy head on, the Vanti queen drafted hundreds millions of male Vanti to fight while the fleet could be strengthened. Men were used as canon fodder by their female commanders to drain the Mandi's resources, weakening them until the counter-fleet was finished. Over the course of 40 years, 306 million Vanti soldiers died. 600 thousand of them were females.

Eventually, the fleet was deployed against the worn-out Mandi. The territory that had been slowly taken was won back in quick, decisive battles. Eventually, the Mandabis Collective had to sue for peace, withdrawing the rest of their forces after 8 years of fighting. The female soldiers and leaders were hailed as heroes by the Queendom, and the new fleet was sent out to explore and conquer new territory. The 50 million male soldiers that survived were denied their pensions.

Queendom War 2:

7589 BBT - 7467 BBT

Emboldened by their previous victory, the Avanti Queen vowed to spread across the sector. However, they eventually encountered the far reaches of the Mandi collective once again. To avoid further war, a demilitarized zone was establish between them. However, as they continued expanding they continuosly clashed over land. Upon reaching a rogue planet

Politics

The Colonus Pact and its subsidiary nations are governed by a Constitutional Monarchy, the head of which being the Vanti monarch.

The Legislative Branch is made up of an upper House and a lower House. The upper House, known as the House of Concord, is proportional to population and made up exclusively of members of the Colonus Pact. It seats elected officials from the Mandi Freethinkers and the Avanti Kingdom, and the High Queens from the Mandabis Collective. The lower House, known as the House of Concert, grants all of the Colonus Pact's subsidiary nations equal-representation and a chamber to address their issues. Although there is some oversight and restrictions, the Colonus Pact generally respects the House of Concert's decisions and allocates the appropriate resources to them.

There is no overarching Judicial Branch. Each planet is expected to deal with violations of the law with their own Judicial branch. Any complaints may be brought before the respective House, which may then vote to establish a Judicial Organization.

The law is upheld by the Antlions, the secret police that watches over Colonian territory with an all-seeing eye

Technology

Neural-Net:

In order to keep the benefits of a coordinated hive, the Mandi created a device that, when surgically implanted into the brain, could like member of the hive even when they were apart. When the Mandi unified with the Vanti, neuroscientists were able to successfully adapt the device to work on other species as well.

Later, as the population expanded, Emperor Arachnis ordered the partitioning of the hivemind. The ability to deliberately section off the hivemind created a drastic increase in productivity, as well as diminishing the disorientation experienced by non-Mandi.

After the discovery of the language barrier between other species, Mandi Freethinkers used this technology as a translating tool, to limited success.

Cloak:

During the Vanti rebellion, a male scientist was able to create a cloak that could hide rebel ships from the Royal Fleet.

More than just signal suppressors, modern-day cloaks can also visibly hide ships, making surprise attacks increasingly practical.

Avanced Trackers:

To more efficiently monitor non-Colonian movements in Colonian space, Antlion developed an array of trackers to function in whatever situation agents find themselves in. A notable, although somewhat less-effective type are shield-trackers, which can stick to certain shields and send out a signal after a ship drops out from FTL travel.

Electro-Magnetic Weaponry:

The Colonus Pact makes use of kinetic weaponry on their capital ships, but they're far more known for their advanced EMPs. Because of the nature of their neural-net, Mandibus had to develop more advanced emp-hardened technology. The logical side affect was more powerful emps that could leave enemy warships open to a kamikaze run. Currently small ships are equipped with guns that can fire electro-magnetic bolts, which can travel 500 meters before dissipating. Larger ships instead fire electro-magnetic capsules that detonate on impact.

Flare Thrusters

Colonian Chargers have a series of powerful thrusters that are usually disabled. After a ships shields are knocked out, a swarm will switch to flare thrusters and suicide bomb the ship, leaving it disabled or destroyed
