B.A.R.R.I.E.R

BARRIER, (Acronym for: Bureau for Anti-terrorism Reconnaissance and Rapid Intervention Enforcement Response) is the federal agency for domestic intelligence, concerned with espionage, treason, sedition and counter-terrorism. It is split in two sub-divisions, BARRIER Raven Division and BARRIER Eagle Division. Whilst both division are part of BARRIER and administrated by it, they're organization is split into their respective fields. The split with both divisions can be explained with the seperation of powers and will be further explained with the functions of each division. It was founded in 1984 as a reaction to the bombing of the Al-Sader Hospital in Orhar by wazinian seperationists. BARRIER is constantly cooperating with the Foreign Intelligence Office of Orharan especially in the field of counter-terrorism

Division Raven

Division Raven of BARRIER is the main intelligence division of BARRIER, concentrating on the gathering of information on potential espionage, treason, terroristic and anti-constitutional activity. Whilst it is allowed to use differeng methods in order to gather intelligence it's main method is wiretapping and similar surveilance techniques applicable to international communications, it is also legally allowed to use infiltration and the usage of covert listening devices. However it always needs the classification of different organizations and single individuals as "Suspicious Behaviour", "probably anti-constitutional" and "anti-constitutional". The classification of every case is being done by BARRIER itself and has to be approved at the Grand Constitutionary Court of Orharan (GCC). The main purpose of Division Raven is the supply of evidence to create a legal basis for further operations especially enforcement operations by Division Eagle.

Division Eagle

Division Eagle is the enforcement division of BARRIER consisting of multiple Enforcement Squads that are ready at all times to be deployed. They are usually deployed to break up terrorist organizations within the nation. Their deployment also depends on the expectation of armed resistance and the urgency of a situation, which is why to this day it was only used against terrorists for example in hostage situations. However it can also be deployed against other "anti-constitutional" organizations. Whilst they have the duty to try anything to use undeadly force and arrest suspects they may use deadly force of the live of themselves or especially others is endangered. They first came to international recognition after their intervention in the taking of hostages on an orharanian oil rig in 1994.
