The Scientific Directorate of Rosecordia, more often referred to as the Directorate, is a interstellar nation located in the extreme north-east of Sector A1-0, regaining statehood during the Rosecordi Secession Crisis (0BBT-1ABT).
Etymology
A Scientific Directorate is a government where a committee of scientists supervises the government apparatus for maximum efficiency.
History
Early History (18,000~ BBT - 9430~)
The Directorate's earliest known records aren't records. It's a sundial, that dates to 18000~ BBT, uncovered in Rosecordia's Sedimentary Layers. Most history of the Serniani itself is vague, and unclear. The earliest date at which history was recorded, was around 9430~ BBT, the date at which the Directorate became the sole governing body of the planet, and began colonizing nearby planets.
The Colonization of the Serniani Nebula (9430 - 7430 BBT)
The first worlds colonized were in the systems close to the Rose System. The first major hurdle is that the Serniani Nebula is desolate and dust filled. These issues were solved in 9323 BBT with the first test of the Gate Relay System. The Gate Relay System, better known today as Gate Assisted Warp (GAW) allows for near instant travel, bypassing the restraints of the Serniani Nebula. With this, the Serniani Nebula was colonized relatively quickly. The lower reaches of the Serniani Nebula were colonized as early as 7430 BBT. Deciding to constrict the Serniani to the Nebula, closing themselves off from contact.
The Serniani Scientific Golden Age (7430 - 4300 BBT)
The years of self imposed exile with the desire for improvement of tech, lead to the Serniani Golden Age. This lead to developments like the Ion Force Engine, Phase Shielding, advancing Gate Tech, and a little bit of Genetic & Bio Engineering. During this time period, the Serniani Population increased to Five Trillion.
