Charles William, Prince of Lichtenburg-Hohenzollern-Arnsstadt was a Weissersteiner noble and military commander. The third son of Emperor Wilhelm I and Empress Elizabeth of Weisserstein, he was a member of the House of Lichtenburg-Hohenzollern and was later made Prince of Arnsstadt by the Duke of Zierenburg, Franz III.

Charles would marry Princess Feodora from the House of Neubert-Homstein, the daughter of Prince Joseph of Neubert-Homstein and placeholder of placeholder. They only had one child, Prince Paul of Arnsstadt

Military career

In 1852, he led the 12th Landwehr Regiment in the War of the Zierenburger Succession as part of the Weissersteiner contingent force in the conflict. After the battle of X, which saw the death of Johann von Landren, Charles William was given overall command of all Weissersteiner forces in Zierenburg, amounting to three regiments. He oversaw the Weissersteiner victories at Y and Z.

He continued to serve as a military attache to the Duchy of Zierenburg until his death in 1882.

Prince of Arnsstadt

As a show of gratitude for his service, King Franz III of Zierenburg gifted the Arnsstadt estate to Charles William, making him a member of the Zierenburger nobility. Arnsstadt, among many other estates, formerly belonged to the House of Laurenberg, but were confiscated by the House of Babenberg after their victory.
