The Andreian Brick (₿) is the currency used in Andrendia.

It was first created by the minister of economy and explorer Giovanni Bricco in 1789, unifying all the currencies that were in use in the empire before that time.

History

The Andreian brick was previously named Andreon and was proposed and designed by Giovanni Bricco, one of the most important characters in the politics of the time.He was the Minister of Economy and, also, an explorer and traveler. During his travels he realized how diverse and different all the currencies were across the territories of Andrendia, that, even after the unification under the Axolians and the transformation of the Axolian Empire into Andrendia, were never unified.

So, in 1788, Bricco designed a new currency, the Andreon. This currency was composed of coins and banknotes, similiar to the current ones, but with decimal divisions for values under one Andreon, instead of centesimal ones.

In 1789, without a single vote not in favor, the Senate approved the currency.

In the following years the currency would be distributed across the Empire and it would end up fully replacing all the other currencies in 1796.

In 1801, after the death of Giovanni Bricco during an exploration of the second tallest mountain of the Apennian Alps to find the source of the River that crossed the Capital of the Empire, that would end up being both named after him too, the currency changed its name into the Brick, or Bricco in Appennise, to commemorate the death of its ideator.

In 1921, after the economic reforms by Franco Oloto IV, the currency had some modifications, including the addition of new banknotes and of a centesimal system of coins for values under one Brick.

Afterwards, there were only minor modifications to the images on the coins and banknotes.
