The Twilight Ascendancy is an interstellar empire in the rimwards regions of Sector A1-0, occupying a volume of space bordering those of the Terragen Empire, the Dovian Star Confederation, the Weissersteiner Empire and the Ryccian Empire. The Ascendancy is the home of the Twila, a heterogeneous creed made up of any who are willing to take the oath and ascend. They alone hold the secrets of The Transmutation, said to be housed in the ever-mysterious Grimoire. The Twilight Ascendancy is ruled by the council of Alumai, each the head of their respective study.
