The Twilight Ascendancy is an interstellar empire in the rimwards regions of Sector A1-0, occupying a volume of space bordering those of the Confluence of Empires, the Dovian Star Confederation, the Weissersteiner Empire and the Ryccian Empire. The Ascendancy is the home of the Twila, a heterogeneous species united by the bonds of ascension. They alone hold the secrets of The Transmutation, and guard it jealously.
