The Cold War was a 50 year conflict in the South Pacific characterized by 3 loose sides and many differing political agendas leading to countless conflict from 1957 (after the Great War) to 2005.

The Three Sides

Huawan

the Huawanese's goals during the Cold War were less driven by ideology and more driven by the disruption and destruction of their enemies. At home, they were a monarchical remnant of old Imperialist ideas from before the Great War, but on the field they were avid supporters of socialism and communism, mainly to disrupt their Ryccian enemies. This lead to them supporting the likes of Songren and UPRAN.

Minor Factions and Neutrals

Revisionist Faction

Formed during the 1960s by Techganet, the faction was named "Revisionist" to symbolize: efforts of the government in conducting a reformation from their past Great War imperialist stances and the fact that, despite being a superpower, Techganet was limited in its' abilities to influence the international scene due to losing the GW. The faction expanded by Tekarai joining after signing bilateral agreements finally ending the near-millennia old dispute between them and the Ubesii; the latter becoming an observer within the faction. Viliakmon would join the faction officially in 1981. after the end of the Karwatini regime, though it held the status of an observer since its' international recognition in 1961.

The faction could at best be described as "neutral" as it conducted mutual military and trade operations; Techganet with Izaakia, Viliakmon with Huawan and Tekarai reconciling with Ubesii. However, it is considered a minor faction due to its' limited place to maneuver, let alone take initiative, as losing sides of the GW. Ideologically it could be described as 'Independent' and 'Nationalist', moving past Imperialism and viewing both Democracy and Socialism with skepticism; a stance which was not spread around mainly due to the aforementioned GW. Moreover, its' overall contribution to either of the three major factions was marginal.

Overall, this left a bitter taste in Techganet and Tekarai-Ubesii as they felt chained during this period. This feeling could best be seen in the original Motto of "Memento Mori" which served as both a reminder of GW Victors that death is imminent to all, regardless of Earthly outcome and as a way of conveying the feelings of the overall population, who grew to be very grim when it came to political matters.

The Head of the faction would eventually be passed to Viliakmon in 1998, after it stabilized its' own internal struggles. Aesthetically, the Motto was changed into "Sovereignty & Independence" , with the ideology slightly moving more towards isolationism than during Techganets' leadership. A program was adopted where the Faction members would focus more towards (re)constructing and renovating themselves instead of focusing on conducting joint military and mercantile operations. This left the Faction negligible by the end of the Cold War in 2005., though it's noteworthy that it remains the only still active faction, resurging in 2022 on the international scene with Viliakmon and Tekarai holding 12-hour negotiations in August of the same year. The contents of the signed agreements remain unknown to the general public, though Viliakmon did proclaim a guarantee of independence towards "South Cordilia" as a sub-continent the day after the talks were held.

Under Viliakmon's leadership, the faction appears to be at least trustworthy towards Huawan and Sedunn, though they collectively share a deep dislike for Ryccia, regardless of regime, for attempting to annex their occupation zone of Karnetvor shortly after the end of GW.
