Karnetvor (Karnetvorian: Карнетвор, Karnetvor), officially the Federal Republic of Karnetvor (Karnetvorian: Федеративная Республика Карнетвор, Federativnaya Respublika Karnetvor) is a country in southeastern Cordilia in the southern reaches of the Gulf of Kringalia. It is bordered by Lucens Aurum to the northwest and Nomayuki to the south. Karnetvor also has an overseas territory - Tasternine. An archipelago, Tasternine is located near the northeastern corner of Crabry. The total area of Karnetvor is 58,119 km2 (22,440 sq mi), and with a population of 30 million, it is one of the most densely populated countries in the South Pacific region with 516 inhabitants per km2 (1,114 inhabitants per sq mi).

Mainland Karnetvor has an oceanic climate at lower altitudes and a humid continental climate at higher altitudes in the southeast. Tasternine has a humid subtropical climate due to the Aiksi Current that brings humid water from the north. Karnetgrad is the capital of Karnetvor, other major cities include Drižny and Foreseas.

The area that was to become Karnetvor was not inhabited until 2,500 years ago when the predecessors of the modern Karnetvorians arrived. The country's written history starts in the 1st Century CE; the territory was divided into numerous petty kingdoms and city-states. From 850 CE a first rendition of a unified Karnetvor emerged as the Kingdom of Karnetia conquered neighbouring territory. In 1096 the Karnetian Empire was proclaimed, which lasted until 1520. The Empire hit its peak in the late 13th to early 14th century, with the "Five Magnificent Emperors". In this period, culture and the arts flourished. The period ended with a series of defeats in wars against Sovonor. The empire disintegrated into five kingdoms including a second Kingdom of Karnetia. [1]

In 1433 colonisation of began Tasternine was . 1442 the Karnetians encountered a Sedunnic ship in the seas to the east of Tasternine, marking the beginning of the age of sail and regular contact between Cordilia and Bailtem and Bareland. The five Karnetvorian kingdoms were often at war with each other but Karnetia reformed and modernised. A significant number of Austral Catholic dissidents were allowed to settle in Karnetvorian cities. In the Confederate War 1858-1863, Karnetia and its allies were victorious and the Karnetvorian kingdoms unified into a single state, the Karnetvorian Confederacy.

The Karnetvorian Confederacy maintained an expansionist policy and annexed significant territories the following decades, but it collapsed in 1938, becoming a unitary state under a monarch. Continued Karnetvorian aggression lead to the Great War, where Karnetvor and other imperialist allies were defeated, loosing significant territories. In 1989, a revolution toppled the Karnetvorian monarchy, creating the First Republic of Karnetvor. In a fraudulent election in 2007, the Nationalist government of Karnetvor assumed full control of the country's institutions, ending the First Republic. In 2011, following nationwide protests, an armed revolt started against the Karnetvorian Nationalist Regime, sparking the Karnetvorian Civil War. The war ended with the surrender of Loyalist forces and the Third Republic was founded in 2013.

Today, Karnetvor is an active player in international affairs and a strong proponent of international law and democracy. It participated in the Military Intervention Against Soormann in Transsuneria and the following peacekeeping operation. Karnetvor is a founding member of the World Forum and the International Court is located in Petrovka. Karnetvor is also a founding member of the Concordia Entente and a member of the CPSC. Karnetvor is a secular state.
