The Democratic Socialist Assembly, or the DSA, is a user created region founded in 2011 by Opalaland. It is based upon socialist, social-democratic, communist and liberal principals. The region specifically disallows certain WA categories and keeps a standard of civil rights and political freedoms, set out in its Charter.

History

The region was created as a result from a crisis within the Democratic Socialist Alliance from 2011. The former WA Delegate, Bazlantis, and the Founder, Cynthia Mckinney were fighting over control of the newly-created Regional Embassy Feature added. As a result of the power struggle, the Founder revoked the executive powers of the WA Delegate, causing anger and resentment throughout the region. Some nations claimed that the founder has breached the regions charter, but the founder countered this statement by claiming that by canelling embassy constructions, Bazlantis was in breach of the charter. Eventually, the debate ended on the 8th of April 2011 when Opalaland, along with Bazlantis formed the Democratic Socialist Assembly.
