Pacivision Song Contest

The Pacivision Song Contest 2022 is set to be the 2nd edition of the Pacivision Song Contest. The contest is currently in its bidding phase, following Sedunn's victory in the 2021 contest in Südtor, GI-Land with the song "Never wanted this to end" by Illkrom Blenienn and Rila Jok. The contest is due to be organised by the Pacivision Executive Board (PEB) and the host broadcaster, that is to be determined still.

Location

According to the rules, the host broadcaster of the winning song would receive the rights to host the next edition of the contest. But for the first contest only, the PEB will allow the bidding to other countries.

Preparations

Preparations for the 2022 contest began around September when the PEB declared its intention to rotate the host country and open bids for cities and broadcasters to host the contest. Due to

Bidding phase

On 20 September 2021, PEB launched the bidding process and published a list of criteria and requirements for the host city and venue. Interested broadcasters are to submit bids on behalf of the city through postal means, after which PEB would proceed to send all of them a bid book with more detailed requirements for the cities and broadcaster to submit their plans for review. The cities have until 26 October 2021 to draft and submit their detailed plans.

On 22 September 2021, on behalf of the city of Gralois, Ikoania officially announced its bid, proposing the Century Arena as a possible venue to host the event.

The choice among them is meant to be announced by early November.
