The Great Pharali War, also known as the War of the League of Harzburg, was a military conflict which was instigated by the Great Pharali Empire against the member states of the League of Harzburg and later the First Dovian Empire, which lasted from 698 BBT to 680 BBT. The war brought the end of the Pharali Empire and its reign of terror and slavery, the consolidation of the League of Harzburg into the Western Provinces of the Dovian Empire, and the supposed extinction of the Pharali species.
Background
Pharali expansionism
The Pharali Empire has had ambitions on the territories of Corvinia, Weisserstein, Holland, and other star nations in the region for a long time. The Empire had previously waged war, known as the Six Years' War, which ended in a stalemate between the Pharali the Quinumvirate (Corvinia, Weisserstein, Holland-Nederland, Jazeera, Rocova)
Secret Treaties
Following Pharali posturing, the Kingdom of Corvinia, the Kingdom of Weisserstein, and the United Kingdom of Holland and the Nederland, signed a secret mutual defense treaty against any threats from the Great Pharali Empire. This would also later include the Emirate of Jazeera and the Most Serene Republic of Rocova.
Corvinian Cataclysm
In 698 BBT, the Extinguisher Fleet of the Pharali Navy entered Corvinian space without Corvinian knowledge. The Royal Corvinian Fleet attempted to intercept but was forced to retreat. The Extinguisher Fleet would later begin an orbital bombardment campaign against the Corvinian capital world of Zan Corvin, destroying the capital city of Saint Corva and leveling many others. This attack was known as the Corvinian Cataclysm, and let to the Kingdom of Corvinia calling upon its allies to help it against the Pharali.
