History of the Fortinian Confederacy (A1-0)

The History of the Fortinian Confederacy is covering the history from the first establishment on Saper in the Unican system until today.

Emergence of the Fortinians

The Fortinians are said to have emerged around 19,000 standard years ago on Saper in the Unican system. They started space exploration about 7,050 standard years ago and established their first planetary colony on Compania about 150 standard years after their first spatial launch.

First interplanetary colonization

About 2,500 standard years before discovering faster-than-light technology, the Fortinians were able to settle on Spero in the Proculan system about 5.1 light-years away from their home planet, a journey that took just about 50 years, which was made possible with the invention of the antimatter engine about 50 standard years before. This was further helped with the development of genetic modification which began about 6,800 standard years ago.

First interplanetary treaty

The colonized worlds began gaining independence from the centralized power around 5,000 standard years ago and this movement sprawled quickly among the colonized worlds. This sparked a new field of interplanetary diplomacy which was brought to prominence with the Treaty of X, about 4,300 standard years ago.

Invention of the Quantum Drive

The discovery of Quantum manipulation and the invention of the Quantum Drive about 4,000 standard years ago allowed the Fortinians to speed up their colonization of space. This allowed the Fortinians to rapidly extended their territory faster than ever before.

First interplanetary meetings

The self-governance gained by the newly colonized world and the new technology allowing for meetings at short notice led to the first interplanetary meetings with the Congress of X, also called the First Congress of the Fortinians about 3,600 standard years ago. This culminated with the Foundation of the Union for Interplanetary Diplomacy around 2,250 standard years ago which sparked the discussions to unify the different worlds under a political union.

League of Fortinia

The League of Fortinia was established about 2,000 standard years ago and became the first centralized political union in the region. It was the first time that the many Fortinians subraces were again united since the first colony gained its independence about 3,000 standard years before the establishment of the League.

Fortinian Confederacy

Considering the many problems faced by the League, many governing bodies met about 1,550 standard years ago and issued the Declaration by United Planetary Systems which called for a new union to be established and to replace the failing League of Fortinia. After 50 years of negotiations between the governing bodies, the Fortinian Confederacy was established about 1,500 standard years ago.
