Pacifica Protection Platoon 4 is a third-person shooter video game produced by Glass Diamond Software for the PC and Sakanoba Tillsi platforms. It follows the story of one or more soldiers in the eponymous Pacifica Protection Platoon as they fight to defend a fictionalized version of Pacifica from hordes of extraterrestrial invaders and their robotic minions. The game has become one of Glass Diamond’s most successful titles to date, releasing to positive reviews and attaining best-seller status in 2023.

Pacifica Protection Platoon 4 incorporates multiple new gameplay elements not present in previous Pacifica Protection Platoon games, such as a fourth, melee-focused class, new maps with terrain patterns such as enclosed corridors, a new minimap showing terrain and paths, and new drivable vehicle types like aircraft.

Gameplay

Pacifica Protection Platoon 4 is a class-based third-person shooter supporting singleplayer as well as online and split-screen co-op modes. Players are tasked with clearing levels filled with large numbers of hostile monsters that are often varied in type and attack pattern, after which they unlock progressively more difficult levels and gain new and upgraded weapons to use.

The maps of Pacifica Protection Platoon 4 are divided into a sequence of missions, which are the grouped into five story chapters. 129 missions are included in the game, including one tutorial mission, five chapters with 24 main missions and one bonus mission each, and three additional bonus missions that unlock when the main story is completed. Each mission can be played on one of five different difficulty levels, with harder difficulty levels increasing enemy health and damage as well as adding new enemy types; clearing missions on harder difficulties also increases the item level of weapons that are obtained after the mission ends.
