The Fathoms Below
8th Delegate of the South Pacific
In office
18 June 2003 – Early June 2003
Preceded byThe XYZ Affair
Succeeded byAlpha C

The Fathoms Below was the Delegate of the South Pacific from 18 June 2003 until at the latest 2 July 2003.

The XYZ Affair gained the delegacy through a game glitch around 13 June and immediately began ejecting nations. The South Pacific mounted a resistance that managed to place The Fathoms Below in the delegacy.[1][2] The Fathoms Below unbanned all nations that The XYZ Affair had banned and ejected The XYZ Affair.[3]

During their delegacy, The Fathoms Below encouraged endo-swapping and allowed nations such as Desert Rose to come close to the delegacy, seeing this as democracy.[4] By June 25 the World Factbook Entry read:[5]

Greetings from TFB. I am on vacation currently and can only get to my computer sporadically. If I dont answer your telegram please telegram me again. I hope all is well! www.TheSouthPacific.host.sk

After three days of inactivity,[6] on approximately 2 July,[7] The Fathoms Below ejected a large number of nations, including their endorsers and new arrivals,[8] and then their own nation.[9] Some accounts state that The XYZ Affair had secretly hacked into The Fathoms Below and was attempting to frame Atlantic Central Command; others claim that The Fathoms Below changed the World Factbook Entry to proclaim they had been hacked by The XYZ Affair; some suspected The Fathoms Below of staging the hacking.[10] They were succeeded as delegate by Alpha C.
