7th Delegate of the South Pacific
In office
approx. 13 June 2003 – 18th June 2003
Preceded byGoddessness
Succeeded byThe Fathoms Below

The XYZ Affair was the delegate of the South Pacific for a short period in June 2003.

She was a member of the Atlantic Central Command and had been present and endo-swapping in the South Pacific for some time in June 2003.[1][2] In mid-June, a game glitch caused Goddessness to lose over 400 endorsements,[3][4] and The XYZ Affair became the new delegate on or before 13 June, causing a suspension of the planned elections.[5] Site administrators were alerted but took no action.[3]

Over several days, The XYZ Affair ejected many nations, including previous delegate Goddessness.[3] On 18 June,[6] a South Pacifican resistance pushed The Fathoms Below into the delegacy. This resistance included future delegate Tsunamy,[7] with support from other regions including the West Pacific.[8] The Fathoms Below was inactive for several days before again ejecting nations,[9] and was thought to have been hacked and under the control of the XYZ Affair, possibly changing the World Factbook Entry to say they had been hacked;[10][1] though some suspected The Fathoms Below retained control and used The XYZ Affair as a scapegoat.[11]

The XYZ Affair was ejected from the South Pacific by The Fathoms Below on 18 June.[12] The nation was last active onsite on 18 June 2003. Accounts vary on whether she was banned from the game[1] or if she simply went inactive. If banned, it was not immediate, as the nation was still alive on 24 June, at which point it had left the United Nations.[13]
