The 1911 Weissersteiner-Pasten Border Incident, also known as the War of Utter Tomfoolery, the Battle of the Dummies, and the 7 Minute War, was a short, undeclared war, between the Father States-controlled Past and the Weissersteiner Empire that occured in February 26, 1911, due to an incident involving a card game between the border guards. The incident was the culmination of years of tensions and border disputes between the Father States and Weisserstein.

The war, which lasted for 7 minutes, is claimed to be the shortest war in Pacifican history. At least 8 people, all of which are border guards, were injured due to the firefight.

The fighting ended when the commanding officer of both sides agreed to end hostilities. The news of the firefight caused the government of both Weisserstein and the Father States to discuss a peaceful end to hostilities, which would culminate in the signing of the Mitterdenz Agreement in June 24, 1911.

Father States' reaction

While the Father States would have normally used such an event as casus belli, They realized that a necessary preliminary to a war with any major power was an annexation of Losavra and a considerable build up of the military forces. At this point the Father States had not yet started the conscription of Pastens in Pastrala and therefore did not feel they had adequate numbers. Furthermore, the Military-Industrial complex of Ikarn had not yet reached peak levels like before the Great War. They wisely decided to sue for peace.
