Early Career
John Evington started his career as an editor for a Nicholas and Great British newspaper. He would later become the newspaper's main political editor.
The Socialist Nationalist Party
In 1975, at the age of 22, he joined the Nicholas and Great British Army in the wake of the First Nicholas and Great British Civil War. After the war had ended in 1981, John Evington felt distaste towards the current government at the time due to the Treaty of Virje, believing that Nicholas and Great Britain had become too weak. This lead him to join the Socialist Nationalist Party in 1982. He would soon become an editor for the party's newspaper. He quickly rose through the ranks to become the party's Head of Media in 1985.
In 1994, Donald Tumbler, the leader of the Socialist Nationalist Party at the time, removed Evington from his position as Head of Media in favour of someone else. However, Evington remained on the party's executive committee. However, Evington was not happy about having his position removed. Furthermore, he and many other party members began to dislike Tumbler for his leniency and support of democracy. Evington got into contact with the NGBSS (who had been secretly in close contact with the party since 1983) to plan an assassination of Tumbler. The assassination was carried out and evidence was planted to suggest that the perpetrators were the Romordian Resistance. A vote was held to decide the new leader of the party. Paul Carmichael won the vote. However, Evington did not regain his position as Head of Media but was appointed as Home Affairs Spokesperson instead. In 2004, as the Socialist Nationalist Party became the largest opposition party, Evington became the Shadow Home Secretary under David Aitken, the leader of the party at the time.
In 2008, Aitken was murdered by the Romordian Resistance and Nicholas McGregor, who was the deputy leader of the party and shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, became the new leader of the party. In 2009, the Socialist Nationalist Party won the general election and Evington became the Home Secretary.
Minister of Imperial Expansion
In 2012, McGregor created the Ministry of Imperial Expansion, which was responsible for overseeing territories belonging to Nicholas and Great Britain (such as West Romordia and Kalinskia) and overseeing any future conquests the country may make. Evington was appointed as Minister of Imperial Expansion and he was removed as Home Secretary.
In 2021, as protests in West Romordia for West Romordian independence turned into riots, Evington proposed to McGregor that a military operation should be made to eradicate 60% of the West Romordian population. After a lot of debate, McGregor agreed and Operation Dian Cecht commenced, only to be postponed indefinitely shortly after due to international pressure.
