Andreus Savvidis Rokakos (Aegean: [ɐn̪d̪ɹ̠ɛ̝ɐs sɐviðis ɾ̠o̞kɐko̞s]; born 13 April 1971 in Psychron, UPRAN) is a Rhaynan politician and diplomat. Since 2021, he has served as ambassador of the UPRAN in the World Forum, the first ambassador of the nation. A member of the Rhaynan Socialist Party, Savvidis served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2015 to 2019. He serves as the incumbent speaker of the World Forum since July 2024.

Early life, education and early career

Savvidis was born in Psychron, in the province of Nysamis, Rhayna, the son of Omiros Savvidis Stavrou (1936–2002) and Dania Aggela Rokakos Valaki (1939–2010).

He attended the Skyloktonos Lyceum in Psychron, where he graduated in 1989 as one of the ten best student in the state. Later on, he started studying civil engineering in the National University of Rouketa. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1993 and worked in the field for 3 years, before pursuing a political career and graduating with a doctorate in international relations in 2001.

Political career

Savvidis' political career began in 2001, when he became a member of the Rhaynan Socialist Party. Shortly thereafter, he became a full-time politician. In the period between his accession to the party in 2001 and the accession of the UPRAN to the World Forum, Savvidis became involved in the party leadership and held the following offices:

  • Mayor of Psychron (2003 and 2007)
  • Prytanis of Nysamis province (2007–2015)
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs (2015–2019)

After joining the party, two years later, he presented and won the local elections in his natal city, the first victory of the Socialist Party after 16 years of Kaly-thean Interest Party's reign. He governed for 4 years before pursuing higher roles at provincial level. He won the provincial elections of Nysamis in 2007 by a slight margin, and in 2011 by a larger one. In his governments, the city of Psychron was twinned with Brient, international commerce with the province increased compared to cities along the same maritime routes, taking advantage of its location in the Cordilian Sea, among other policies that enriched the region.

In his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs, he suggested for the first time for the United Provinces to join the World Forum, at that moment a disputed opinion since the UPRAN have had a tradition of limited international involvement since the Great War.

After the end of the government of Mitrios Maras in 2019, Savvidis worked as advisor of various organizations of Rhayna as advisor of international relations, before Boutros Georgiou made official the accession of the UPRAN to the World Forum.
