Their Discord handle is Canadian goose#3817.
NationStates
While New Ontario Dominion is Canadian Dominion's oldest nation, having been founded on May 4th, 2020,[3] their main nation nowadays is the eponymous Canadian Dominion, which assumed this role after they lost the password to the New Dominion of Canada nation right in the middle of the November 2021 Local Council election.[7] Canadian Dominion currently controls a further four nations, two of which being their representative nation to the South Pacific Union and The Unity Pact.[8]
Regional Government
Involvement of Canadian Dominion in the South Pacific's regional government, besides serving two brief periods as a legislator, is limited to one term on the Local Council.
Local Councilor
After first running the September 2021 Local Council special election, from which they withdrew due to mental health,[9], Canadian Dominion once again stood in the November 2021 Local Council election on a platform of community engagement, dedication, and a "tough-on-trolls" stance.[10] Surviving the elimination round with 8 votes (4.73% of possible votes), they proceeded to win the second official round with 33 votes (27.5%) and were thus elected to the Local Council to serve a four-month term alongside Drystar and Apatosaurus.[11] For the most part, the term passed relatively quietly. Jointly, the Local Council and the Ministry of Culture initiated the RMB Culture Ping List, which nations could sign up to to receive an on-site notice whenever an event by the Ministry was hosted. Furthermore, the LC passed an amendment to the Local Council Elections Act proposed to them by Kris Kringle, reducing the time LC elections would take.[12] However, citing the still rampant cluttering of the Regional Message Board with content perceived as without much value, HumanSanity increasingly pressed the Local Council on Discord near the end of the term, sparking discussion over the role of the LC and its overall necessity in TSP's political system. Many legislators and other citizens expressed disappointment in the LC's performance for the term for failing to combat the state of the RMB and being too lax in enforcing RMB rules.
Canadian Dominion decided to run for a second term in the March 2022 Local Council election, the first held under the new preliminary rules. Due to these, they could not stand under their main nation, which had not yet reached 120 days of residency after the loss of access to their previous main nation New Dominion of Canada and instead had to run using the New Ontario Dominion nation.[13] Their platform was the same as their first, simply updating their Conflict of Interest section and keeping everything else the same.[14] The outcome of the election is still to be determined, with the results scheduled to be announced on March 14th, 2022.[15]
