HSH (honorific) Dawson Ernst, Grand Duke of the Grand Duchy of Nasphilitae (born 30 December 1989) is the current Grand Duke and Head of State of Nasphilitae (Pacifica), as the head of the Peer House of Ernst. As the eldest child of Umber Ernsts and Claudia Masons four children, his full pretitle is HSH, Grand Duke Dawson Ernst-Mason, which is shortened as per tradition of Nasphiliti nobility. Siblings include: Arnold Ernst-Mason (born June 13 1995), Rawls Ernst-Mason (born September 2 2002), and Maximilia Mason (born October 28 2007). He married Josephine Greenhill in 2018., with whom he has two children; heir-apparent to Peer House of Ernst Adrian (born July 1 2019), and heir-apparent to Peer House of Greenhill Theogonia Greenhill (born January 16 2021).
After the passing of HSHM Wilferd Stoneham in December of 2023., Dawson was nominated by 36 Earls as a counter-candidate to LP Taylor for the position of Grand Duke of Nasphilitae. Despite Taylor receiving endorsement from Peers Morrissons, Pellmore, Stoneham, and Konevenagel; Dawson managed to win an absolute majority of 61.33% of the vote on direct national elections. Dawson is renowned among the Nasphiliti Nobility for his Laconian rhetoric and direct-blunt approach. At the same time, his dislike for nuisances and complications are notable, which explain the elaborate network of support he's fostered both prior to and during his tenure as Head of State.
It's publicly known that he has a rather odd obsession with mushroom foraging and indoor fungiculture farming. A nutritionist by profession, after completing his education, he served in the Royal airforce from 2016-2018 actively and earned the rank of Lieuthenant-General in 2022. Dawson speaks three languages (Alman, Cimbrian, and Freeian) fluently, together with Austral.
Early Life, Education and Military
Dawson was on in the Castle Ernst of the Peerage on 30 December 1989. Growing up in the Royal Chambers of House Ernst, he was baptized to the Modified Presbytarian Church of Nasphilitae, while simultaneously being exposed to Modalist and Monist ideals from his matrilineal family. At the age of 3, he was sent to enroll in RANASA at Fort Masontown, where he completed the Mandatorian-equivalent in 2008. at the age of 19. From 2009-2016, Dawson continued his studies in RANASA, earning a BA in general biology. Earning his Masters 2014-2016. in Nutritional biology on the thesis of "Effects of biofuel and biochemistry in nutritional modification within fungi". Soon after, Dawson completed his mandatory military service (2016-2018) within the Royal airforce, though chose to remain in active employment within the Officer Corpus until 2023. He is well-regarded among the Royal Armed Forces for creating and training of Special Operation Paratroop Shock Batallion 991. Upon election as the Grand Duke of Nasphilitae, he abandoned all previously held positions, to avoid possible Conflict of Interest.
Tenure as Grand Duke
Dawson Ernst passed the Ordinance on Electoral Act of 2023. on January 03 2024., mere 24 hours upon election to the office, which some have criticised. Nominating Peer David Atkinsons, Peeress Madison Edwards and Earl Quinlann Emmerson in his HM Cabinet, in conjunction to his own lineage and marriage, Dawson had managed to gather a strong coalition for support among the Nobility. Notably, Earl Emmerson (whose suzerainty is in House Konevenagel) was chosen, lest Milla Konevenagel herself. In a light tone, Milla ascertained that the choice of ommission was a clear grudge for her support of LP Taylor in the elections.
