The Spirasian Civil War was the culmination of ever growing ideological tension between Communists and Royalists. The Revolutionary Communist Party, made up of Exiled Stoinian and Ludvillian Communists, along with a large group of local communists. Things finally boiled over on the 3rd Of February 1986 after Communist leaders ordered Communist sympathizers in the Armed Forces, along with local militia, to rise up against the Monarchy, after the latters failure to keep the Communist Belogora from falling to the Pelinese Whites. Added onto that reason included economic downturn, loss of jobs, and a proposed Union between Emerald-Denver and Spiras. The civil war would formally end with signing of the Treaty Of Spiru on July 20th, 1987.

Background

In 1925, the Spirasian Revolutionary People's Party, predecessor to the RCP was founded by a group of Spirasian Communists. The SRPP would later reform in the Revolutionary Communist Party after the Stoinian Red Calamity, where many Stoinian Communists would flee to Spiras. The RCP would eventually begin to pick up popularity after the Great War, and especially after the Pelinese Civil War and the 1st Denverian Civil War, which would lead to an increased amount of Communist Radicals entering the RCP, eventually becoming the majority within the party. By 1986, tensions between the ruling Spirasian Royal Coalition(Made up of the Spirasian Royal Party, The Spirasian Orthodoxy Alliance, and the Spirasian Democratic Party) and the RCP were boiling and civil war was deemed inevitable by the Eaglestar Times and the Spirasian News. It was only a matter of time until something tipped one side over the edge. and then it happened.

In 1985, the SRC signed the Union Act Of 1985, which said that by 1990, Spiras would unify with the United Kingdom's Of Emerald And Denver as it's 3rd Constituent Country. This action would cause the RCP to begin secretly mobilizing its militias, armed wing, and sympathizers within the armed forces.

Events

First Strikes By The Communists

On February 3rd, 1986, the RCP would tell it's air units to begin bombarding major cities across the country, while Militia and RCP Ground Forces would move in and capture the cities. The First targets included the Capital of Spirosia, Little Sedunn, Dinkle, St. Andrei, and Spirusia. After the initial bombardment by RCP Air Units(Later referred to as the Red Spirasian Air Corp), militia and Red Ground Units moved in on the cities. Most would be repelled, except for St. Andrei and Dinkle, both of which fell during the early hours of the war. Spirosia and Spirusia would be turned into front line cities as Remaining Royalist Units would begin a desperate defense against the Red Militia's and Red Ground Units.
