Andrendia, officially the Axolotl Empire of Andrendia, is a unitary state in North-East Bailtem bordered in the West by Eareamland, Arnchow and the CBR.
History
Prehistory
Civilization in Andrendia started around 15.000 BC in the area around the Magazo Jungle. For thousands of years humans lived in nomadic groups until around 10.000 BC they started building villages. Around this time the oldest religion in Andrendia was created: The Cult of Axolotls, an endemic species of Andrendia. The followers of the Cult were called Axolians. Axolians and the other groups of humans were often enemies, but some became great allies.
Vulcanbonian-Axolian War
Time passed and many small kingdoms were formed, but this part of the Andreian history is really obscure since almost every information was destroyed around 678, when a war broke out between the biggest kingdoms of ancient Andrendia, The Vulcanbonian Kingdom and The Axoland Kingdom. The Vulcanbonian kingdom was a kingdom of humans who worshiped the Gods of Mount Vulcanbon, an important volcano in Northern Andrendia. The Axoland kingdom was a kingdom of Axolians. This war was the biggest Andrendia would ever see in all of history. Almost all of the Kingdoms involved in the war were destroyed and the Axoland and Vulcanbonian Kingdoms collapsed. With the war the Vulcanbonian cult disappeared and the Cult Of Axolotls became the biggest religion in Andrendia.
Axolian Empire
In 1496, after centuries of division, the Kingdoms of Ancient Andrendia united into the Axolian Empire, an empire of peace and prosperity, where The Cult of Axolotls was a vital part of society.
The Tale of Franco Oloto
Then in 1577, the great explorer Franco Oloto started a journey in the northern part of the Axolian Empire. He saw an island off the coast from his ship and decided to explore it. He didn’t know, but that was the biggest decision of his life. On the island he found a jungle full of strange Azalea trees, a strange find since Azaleas grow in bushes. Then in the middle of the island he found a ruined temple and there Azaleo appeared. Azaleo is the Flowering Azalea God, that in ancient times was worshiped by a mysterious civlization. Franco tried to touch the God, but his hand passed through him, he was just an apparition. Azaleo smiled and asked him to spread his cult back to Andrendia. He became the Messiah of Azaelism and reached the capital of the Axolian Empire, Axolia, and started talking about his find. A few started following him but many started attacking him and thinking he was crazy. Then the unthinkable happened. The Miracle of Axolia, where Azaleo appeared and took control over Franco Oloto to spread his word. This completely changed the Empire.
Some days later the Emperor was removed by the people and Franco became the first Emperor of the Axolotl Empire of Andrendia, named like this in name of his son, Andrea Oloto I. The Cult of Axolotls remained part of Andrendia, but now Azaelism was the main religion in the empire. To this day Franco Oloto was the only person who saw Azaleo.
Then in 1632, an exploration ship of the Franco Oloto Exploration Company, the exploration company founded by the first emperor, was exploring the seas in the north of Andrendia. Before arriving near the island now known as Kingson Island, a storm destroyed the ship. The survivors of the storm died soon on Kingson Island to the fauna.
Andreian civil war
In 1802 Andrendia saw the start of a civil war. After many tensions between the Axolian population and the Azaelists, the Emperor Franco Oloto III was killed.
The war was fought by three different factions:
- the Azaelist Faction that wanted to exterminate every Axolian in Andrendia.
- the Axolian Faction that wanted to remove the emperor, establish a new Axolian Empire and kill every Azaelist.
- the Empire Supporters, who wanted to establish peace in the Empire and stop the two genocides of the other factions.
There were many battles across all of Andrendia, the biggest one was the Battle Of Picentia. The city before that was called Collinetia and it was one of the places with the most Axolians. It was controlled by the Axolianl Faction and there, thanks to the strategic position just near Picentania, an area inhabited mostly by Azaelists and controlled by the Azaelist Faction, they used the city as a place where to torture and kill them.
The Empire Supporters did a surprise attack at the city on 9th of April 1804, freeing Azaelists and stopping the Axolians That was a great victory for the Empire, a giant loss for the Axolians and a humiliating moment for the Azaelists, as their enemies had just saved their soldiers and recruited them into their army. After the War the city will be renamed to Picentia, in the name of the Picentanian Azaelists that lost their lives.
In 1805, on the coast of Cilentranea, in a safe city the Azaelists and the Empire signed a peace treaty that stated that the Azaelists would surrender and join the Empire to stop the Axolians from their genocide.
Then on 15 July 1807 the Great Battle of Andreopolis was fought. The Axolian Faction attacked Andreopolis, capital of the Empire, on the first lights of the day, surprising the population. They destroyed the Emperor's Palace and many Azaelist Churches. Some hours later the Empire's counterattack destroyed many of the Axolian Faction's armies and then the new emperor, Andrea Oloto the IV killed the leader of the Axolian Faction.
On 20 July 1807, the new Emperor signed a peace treaty with the generals of the Axolian Faction declaring the reunification of Andrendia.
Modernisation of Andrendia
On 3 December 1839, the first railway in Andrendia, the Andreopolis-Faiano railway was opened.
On 15 February 1973 emperor Franco Oloto IV, known as the Great Reformer, founded the Andreian Space Program and some day later after a National Referendum joined the CPSC.
Geography
Andrendia has 11 sub-divisions: 2 autonomous regions, 3 island regions and 5 normal regions. The eleventh region is a special region composed of the enormous metropolitan area of the Capital.
Normal Regions
Andro
In this mostly mountainous region are located the peaks of the Andreian mountains, from which the various rivers of the nation generate. This region is the most productive area of the nation thanks to the presence of Fabraica, a city based on industrial production. In the region there is also Picentia among the main inhabited centers, called in name of the Picentanian Azaelists deported there during the Andreian Civil War.
Picentania
In this flat region flows the Picentino river, so called by the Picentini population who also gives the region its name. Among the major inhabited centers we have Sala, a city based on the production of cheeses, and Pontinia, the city where the symbol of the region is located, an ancient bridge built over a large canyon in the mountains.
Brickia
This very water-rich region is one of the most populated thanks to the presence of the inhabited centers of Trenia, home of the Andreian Railways, and Faiano, a large city where potatoes, a typical Andreian food, are produced. The region is crossed by the two major rivers of the nation: the Brick, which flows to the capital and then into the sea, and the Block, which stops at the Block Dam Lake, a lake generated by the gigantic dam that supplies the region with energy, to then flow into the Brick via canals.
Magazena
In this region flows the Magazo, a river that flows into the Gulf of Axolotls, the largest gulf in the nation. In the center of the region is also located the Magazo Jungle, the biggest in the Nation. The largest inhabited center is Pastoria, a city based on farming.
Cilentranea
In this coastal region, tourism is very present. The main inhabited center is Cilentina, a tourist city full of hotels and shops. In the north of the region, in the middle of the sea lies a gigantic offshore wind farm which supplies energy to the region.
Island Regions
Perla
In this small island based on fishing and tourism there is an almost tropical flora. The only inhabited center is Perletria, where there is a large center for the collection of pearls and the national aquarium.
Diamante
On this island located off the autonomous region of Northern Andrendia there is a large diamond mine that provides great wealth to the region. There are no very large inhabited centers but in the village of Diamantia there is a museum about the Diamond mines with an exhibition of minerals.
Platino
On this island off the coast of the autonomous region of Southern Andrendia there are many meteoric craters rich in platinum, the main resource of the island. In this region there are no large inhabited centers, but in the village of Platiniano there is a museum about asteroids and a large astronomical observatory.
Autonomous Regions
Northern Andrendia
In this autonomous region is located the great Mount Vulcanbon, an active volcano that generates large columns of lava during its eruptions. In the western part of the volcano there are large spruce forests and the Forco river flows here. The eastern part, on the other hand, is very similar to Cilentranea. The two main towns are Andria in the west and Costella in the east. In the east of the region there is a small island, Azalea Island, where the Azalea Temple is located. This is why the island is a destination for many religious pilgrimages.
Southern Andrendia
In this autonomous region the coast is very high and rocky, which forms wonderful cliffs. The two major inhabited centers are Sudria and Sporgeria, where huge cliffs are located. South of Sporgeria the climate becomes very hot and what was previously a plain interrupted by small woods, becomes a large prairie full of shrubs and cacti. The prairie is divided from the rest of the region by a large system of Mesas similar to those found in Colorado. This Mesas are known for their great reserves of Oil and Natural Gas that are extracted in the many extraction sites of the region.
Capitalia
Capitalia is the metropolitan area of the capital of Andrendia, Andreopolis.
