Amber Lyson, born 4th of May 1929, was a Livanan Army officer and politician who served as the 16th President of Livana between 1980 to 1985 and also the longest serving Vice President of Livana between 1954 to 1980. His 5 years in office marked the Great Reforms period where the constitution was ammended, stripping away much of the President's power and giving it to the newly created Prime Minister post. Formerly a loyalist of the dictator Tarsis Vitruvia whom he served as second-in-command, Lyson's change of allegiance and his military support enabled the reformist faction to imprison Tarsis and ended his 28 years of dictatorship.
Lyson served as Vitruvia's lieutenant throughout the Livanan Civil War and was sworn in as Vice President alongside Vitruvia on the 5th of March 1952. He became the principal member of the Conservative Party although he himself was amongst the few who criticized Vitruvia over his blatant dissolution of the Livanan Freedom Fighters who brought Vitruvia into office. His involvements during the 26 years dictatorship was still debated to this day, with some blaming him for inaction, or even outright responsibility for the deaths caused by the regime. The Lyson family claimed that the former President was a 'poster boy' of the regime, chosen for his youth to represent the new Conservative Party, and does not take active role in government, apart from several state visits abroad.
Amber Lyson presided over the Zholtiya Crisis during the Pelinese Civil War when factions within the war forcibly took over the Livanan territory of Zholtiya, and the new Pelinese Government later annexed it. His term oversaw Prime Minister Clinton's Great Reforms which saw the constitution amended and civil rights expanded. After his 5 year term, he resigned from office, succeeded by the Liberal Party candidate, President Robert Trent. Lyson died of Cardiac Arrest in his residence in Canna on 2nd of June 2011.
