Bailtem is a continent in the Eastern Hemisphere and mostly in the Southern Hemisphere. It is bordered to the west by the South Pacific Ocean and to the east by the Eastern Ocean. It is separated from Bareland to the south by the Mediterranean Sea.
The name of the continent is an Australisation of Beilltemm, which is its name in Sedunnic. The name derives from the Old Sedunnic elements bēilōn 'constant, axis', meaning north, and temm 'width, expanse', hence their composite Bēilōntemm would mean 'northern plain(s)'. The name originally likely referred to the lowlands of modern-day Detroxia and Sallodesia.
