The Grand Duke of Mauquibie (Mauquibian: Grand Duc de Mauquibie) is the monarchical head of state of Mauquibie. Mauquibie has been a grand duchy since 2 August 1589, when it was elevated from the Duchy of Mauquibie itself elevated from the County of Mauquibie, formed in 768.
The Grand Duke is responsible for the nomination of the members of the Privy Council of the Grand Duke and the Council of Government, although technically responsible for the nomination of the Minister-President, the person nominated is usually the leader of the political party which gets the majority in the Chamber of Deputies.
