The Anserisan Armed Forces (Anserisan: Forçem Armatem Anserisanem) (FAA) are the unified armed forces of Anserisa, as constituted by the Anserisan National Defence Act which states: "The National Defence of Anserisa is raised by the Republic of Anserisa and consist of one Serivce called the Anserisan Armed Forces". It is the successor of the Republican Forces.

This unification consists of sea, land, air and both the special forces and gendarmeria, referred to as the Marina Anserisana (MA), the Arma Anserisana (AA), the Aviata Militara Anserisana (AMA), the (Forçem Peculiarem Anserisanem (FPA) and the Gendarmeria Anserisana (GA).

The Anserisan Armed Forces are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defence of Anserisa and thus responds to the Commissioner of Defence.

The General Commander of the Anserisan Armed Forces is the President of Anserisa.

History

Founded in 1815, the Republican Forces were created to prevent tyrannical regimes in Anserisa, in the aftermath of the Anserisan Empire this was deemed an important measure and thus the Republican Forces were created. Composed mainly of people who fought for the Republican side during the Second Republican Revolution, it was tasked with the defence of the nation, the protection of the institutions and the guarantee of the Constitution. Through time, other independent departments were created with the Republican Navy in 1817 and the Republican Air Force in 1920.

In 1949, the departments merged to become the Anserisan Armed Forces with the three previous departments being named the Anserisan Navy, the Anserisan Army and the Anserisan Air Force, the Anserisan National Defence Act also provided the creation of the Anserisan Special Forces, now tasked with the protection of the President and special missions. In 1979, the Anserisan Gendarmeria was created from the Anserisan Special Forces and within, the Republican Guard was created. Despite having changed names and structures, it is still considered to be the same administration since its inception in 1815.

Defence policy

At its inception the Republican Forces were mostly focused on the defence of Anserisa and that focus as shaped the defence policy of Anserisa. At first equipped with an attacking army, Anserisa followed a path of progressive demilitarization of its armed forces through the years and today, acts almost exclusively as a defensive force. The notable exception being the creation of the Anserisan Special Forces in 1949, which specializes in covert missions and is mostly a military-to-hire for other nations and is also available for peacekeeping missions.

The Fabricium

The Anserisan Navy, following the defence policy of Anserisa, is acting more closely to a coast guard than an actual navy. It is mostly composed of patrol ships and most are equipped with basic weaponry. They are mostly used to survey the waters and to prevent crimes in the territorial waters of Anserisa. Following the imposition of the blockade by the Frost Empire, most ships located in the port of Gubernata have been relocated to southern ports, especially in Libério and Geneva. Most vessels are also equipped with fire suppressing equipment to help out at sea. The Anserisan Navy has always refused to disclose the summary of the weaponry onboard the ships.

Some ships have been used in the past to provide foreign aids to countries, especially after natural disasters.

The Anserisan Navy is organizing the annual Parade of the Navy which happens every year on 11 December, the anniversary of the creation of the Republican Forces.

Fleet

The Anserisan fleet consists of two 100-metre patrol ships, equipped with a helipad and high speed boats, four 51-metre offshore patrol vessels, equipped with stern launching ramp, three 54-metre fast utility boats and eight 11-metre interceptors.

The ship prefix used for the ships is FAA the acronym of the Anserisan Armed Forces.
