The Anserisan Modern Pentathlon is a sport that comprises five different events; road cycling, kayak slalom, equestrian show jumping, sailing laser standard class and running (5000m). The event is inspired from established sports that one should master to get around anywhere, thus the nickname of The Transportation Sport and was first demonstrated in Vergobreta, in Anserisa.

Originally, the competition took place over five days; in 1992 a one-day format was adopted in an effort to be more audience-friendly. It has however achieved little success outside of Anserisa and many blame the long-time isolation policy of the country for that low popularity.

The governing body, Anserisan Modern Pentathlon Association administers the sport despite being also the national association in Anserisa, mostly because of the little interest for the sport outside of the nation.

Anserisa is hosting every year the International Anserisan Modern Pentathlon Championships.
