Anserisans (Anserisan: Anserisanem) are people identified with the country of Anserisa. This connection may be residential, legal, historical or cultural. For most Anserisans, many (or all) of these connections exist and are collectively the source of their being Anserisan.

Anserisa used to be a secluded nation which allowed very few foreigners to establish within the nation. Thus, the citizenship was mostly acquired by being born in Anserisa from Anserisan parents, or by establishing itself in Anserisa following a marriage with an Anserisan. Nowadays, with the opening up process, immigration is becoming more mainstream and the citizenship can now be acquired without formal ties with Anserisan origins.

Main article: Apertiaism

Anserisa is a secular state where the majority of the people identify to a religion started in Anserisa, Apertiaism. Although there is a clear separation of church and state and that position is also enforced by the Anserisan Apertian Congregation, the official organisation of Apertiaism in Anserisa, the religion still influenced a lot of the politics taken by the nation as a whole, most significantly, the Declaration of Rights written in the Constitution of Anserisan which is considered to have been written with Apertian principles in mind. The religion's position on freedom of belief is possibly the reason for the high number of practitioners, with around 80% of the population identifying with Apertiaism as their faith.

Language

Main articles: Anserisan language and New Anserisan language

The official language of Anserisa is Anserisan. New Anserisan was the official language of the Anserisan Empire and has a recognized status within the Constitution of Anserisa. Anserisans are required to learn Anserisan in school and many are also fluent in Austral.

New Anserisan is mostly spoken and understood within the metropolitan area of Brantavilla and some places on Branta Island for it never gained traction enough to be used officially on the other islands.
