The Admiralty is the entity that leads the military of the South Pacific. It consists of the Prime Minister or their appointed designee and up to three Admirals.
Role
The role of the Admirals is set out in the Military Code. They are responsible for planning and overseeing all missions of the military, managing applications and promotions, and handling disciplinary actions. The Admiralty are essential for the function of the military - if it ever falls completely vacant, the military is not permitted to act in any way except self-defence, defending an ally, or fulfilling treaty obligations.
Members of the Admiralty must have attained the rank of Captain. They are nominated by the Minister of Defence and voted on by the Assembly.
History
Admirals have existed since the first military organization of the South Pacific, the Defence Force South Pacific (DSP), founded in September 2003.[1] Originally there was only one Admiral, appointed by the Minister of Defence to lead the army alongside them.
Membership
The Admiralty currently consists of Coltranius, the current Minister of Defence, and permanent Admiral HumanSanity.
