The AEA was established in 1987 from the Anserisan Space Administration Act[1] with a civilian orientation, encouraging peaceful applications in space science. It is administered by the Department of Science and Innovation

The AEA joined the Cross-Pacific Space Cooperation in 1988[2].

The actual director is Amilcar Santagium, the first former astronaut to become director of the AEA.

History

Anserisan space program

The Anserisan space program is administered by the Anserisan Space Administration. Anserisa has contributed technology, expertise and personnel to the CPSC and the world space effort. In addition to its astronauts and satellites, some of the most notable Anserisan technological contributions to space exploration are in the field of robotics.

Anserisan astronauts

Since the launch of the AEA there has been only two recruiting campaigns for astronauts for the AEA. The first in 1989, two years after the launch of the agency which led to the selection of Amilcar Santagium and Monica Maurépasium and the second one in 2003 which led to the selection of Joanno Michenérium and Mariazinha Amaralum.

  • Roberto-Bélium Space Center (RBSC) located in Gubernata, contains the Mission Control Center, where all flight control is manage for crewed space missions.

Future programs

Because of the costs of the Anserisan space program, the Government of Anserisa has been slowly reducing the funding of the AEA. The administration is still participating within the CPSC with technology and expertise in the international projects.
