The Medal of the Republic of Anserisa also simply called the Medal of the Republic (Anserisan: Médala da Republica d'Anserisa or Médala da Republica) is an award bestowed by the Committee of the Medal of the Republic of Anserisa to recognize people who have made outstanding contributions to the law, peace and good government of Anserisa.
It was created in 1815 by Calpurnio Fabricium, then President to become the highest decoration in Anserisa. It has seen been surpassed by the Orders that were created afterward but it still widely regarded as one of the most prestigious medals to be awarded in Anserisa.
It is one of the most difficult award to receive in Anserisa and the highest non-order medal to receive. It is bestowed by the Committee of the Medal of the Republic, which is composed of the 5 heads, or Faces of Anserisa, that compose the main core elements of the government of Anserisa. The President, the Vice-President, the General Representativ, the Principal Councillor and the Principal Supreme Judge are the members of the Committee. Voting has to be unanimous and abide by strict rules. It is restricted to a maximum of 6 living recipients and only 2 honorary recipients.
Eligibility and appointment
The Committee meets only to fill out the vacancy within the recipients. The award is not open to foreigners and only Anserisans can be recipients of the medal. However, two foreigners can become honorary recipients of the medal. The members of the Committee cannot nominate themselves or any other member within the Committee. Tradition has been made to appoint the recipients on 4 November, the date of birth of Calpurnio Fabricium.
Only 6 living people can be recipient of the medal and the award is bestowed for life. Only upon the death of a recipient can a new recipient be elected to receive the medal.
It is awarded to people who have made outstanding contributions to the law, peace and good government of Anserisa.
Foreigners are receiving the medal for their accomplishments similar in their country or sometime for outstanding contributions to the law, peace and good government of Anserisa.
