The Order of Anserisa also called the National Order of Anserisa (Anserisan: Ordemo d'Anserisa or Ordemo Nationalo d'Anserisa) is an award bestowed by the Republican Commission of the Republic of Anserisa to recognize people who have made "an especially exceptional contribution to the national interests of Anserisa, world peace, cultural or other significant contributions".
It is the highest state award of Anserisa. The award is not limited to Anserisans and can be awarded to civilians and military personnel and worn on the uniform. It was established in 1931 by Spurio Traianum, then President of Anserisa. At first it was awarded directly by the President, this was changed in 1946 by Martino Gallum who created the Medal of the President of Anserisa to become the only award to be given solely by the President. As a member of the Republican Commission, the President is still a voting member of the Order.
As the highest governmental order in Anserisa it is often placed first. Only the Order of Prince Stéphano I is of higher value in Anserisa but is rarely bestowed and mostly to people who are sympathetic with the descendants of the House of Anserisa. As such, the Order of Anserisa is widely regarder as the highest award that can be given to an Anserisan citizen.
Eligibility and appointment
The Republican Commission can put on the agenda at any given time a recommendation to nominate someone to the Order. The recommendation must be complete with the recipients' name and the grade of the Order to be bestowed upon the recipient. The Republican Commission normally appoints a sub-committee for the Order. It is usually composed of the Vice-President and two other Commissioners
People must be over 25 years old and have made an especially exceptional contribution to the national interests of Anserisa, world peace, cultural or other significant contributions. It is usual for the Republican Commission to appoint the incumbent President of Anserisa to the Order although most of the time, the incumbent President is either absent or abstains from voting.
Foreigners are eligible to the Order and are considered full members of the Order and not honorary members. The can use the post-nominal letters CA, OA or MA, depending on their grade. If there is a conflict between the Anserisan post-nominal letters and other post-nominal letters, the general ODA can also be used.
The grade of companion is mostly reserved for Anserisan nationals and rarely awarded to foreigners, with the notable exception of Martijn de Klerk and Niels Coetzee, Former State Presidents of Kosbareland for their efforts in the democratic process in their nation.
