The General Corps is the entity that leads the military of the South Pacific. It consists of the Minister of Defence and up to three Generals.

Role

The role of the General Corps is set out in the Military Code. They are responsible for planning and overseeing all missions of the military, managing applications and promotions, and handling disciplinary actions. The General Corps are essential for the function of the military - if it ever falls completely vacant, the military is not permitted to act in any way except self-defence, defending an ally, or fulfilling treaty obligations.

Members of the General Corps must have attained the rank of Commander. They are nominated by the Minister of Defence and voted on by the Assembly.

History

Generals have existed since the first military organization of the South Pacific, the Defence Force South Pacific (DSP), founded in September 2003.[1] Originally there was only one General, appointed by the Minister of Defence to lead the army alongside them.

Membership

The General Corps currently consists of Coltranius, the current Minister of Defence, and permanent Generals Nakari and Roavin.
