Brantavilla is the capital and the most populous city in Anserisa. Founded in 1059 as Commissuram, it is presently named after Branta Island. The city is centred on the southern part of the island.

It is estimated that the city has a population of 206,709. Anserisan is the city's official language, although there is a widespread use of Austral in private signage. New Anserisan is a de facto official language with many of the official documents being accessible in New Anserisan. It is the city where New Anserisan is the most populous with around 18.3% of the population speaking the language at home.

The city officially became the capital of the County of Castorida in 1205 and was renamed Brantasticus. It gained even more importance after the signature of the Treaty of Envoys which established the seat of the Council of Envoys (present-day Council of Regions) in the city. The city lost its capital status from 1436 to 1443, following the invasion of Count Césario of Galluso and the creation of the Union of the Three Northern Isles which established its capital in Vexilla. It has been the continuous capital of Anserisa since 1443.

Brantavilla is home to the Brantavilla Cricket Club, the most successful sports team in Anserisa with 24 championships in the Anserisan 50 League and is home of the football team Brantavilla FC, the franchise with the most Princio-Stéphano I Trophy wins.

Etymology

The first establishment was named Commissuram which means "Give our trust" in Old Anserisan. It was renamed Brantasticus which means "Settlement of Branta". Its current name is an update from the old name and simply refers to "City of Branta".
