The Medal of the President of Anserisa also simply called the Medal of the President (Anserisan: Médala do Présidento d'Anserisa or Médala do Présidento) is an award bestowed by the President of the Republic of Anserisa to recognize people who have made contributions which contributed to or helped the office of the President of Anserisa.
It is the highest award bestowed by a single individual of Anserisa. The award is not limited to Anserisans and can be awarded to civilians and military personnel and worn on the uniform. It was established in 1946 by Martino Gallum, then President of Anserisa, to replace the responsibilities of the President which, at the time, was awarding the Order of Anserisa. The responsibility of the order was given to the Republican Commission.
Eligibility and appointment
The President can, at any time, bestow the award on anyone that has contributed to the office or helped the office of the President. Generally, it is bestowed to a majority of members of the Republican Commission, especially after the completion of a national project, but that is not always the case. The personality of the sitting President has always tinted the awarding of the medal with the more conservative President awarding less medals than the republican Presidents.
There are no requirements prior to receive the medal.
Foreigners are eligible to receive the medal, although this has rarely been the case. Most recently, Finix Fi'Shi received the medal posthumously in July 2020.
Recipients
Notable recipients of the Medal of the President are:
- Jacobo Holtium, Vice-President of Anserisa
- Paulina Moussum, Commissioner of External Affairs and the South Pacific of Anserisa
- Valentina Antoninum, Former and first woman President of Anserisa
